Aim of Yuba City Photographers blog
My rule of thumb is to generously share anything I’ve learned. Since people regularly contact me with questions about photography equipment, portrait tips and lighting techniques, I thought to compile them all in one place to which I could then refer my friends and clients. That’s how Yuba City Photographers blog was born. It is searchable by categories. Feel free to use any of its resources, and if you cite any of its contents in other sites, kindly remember to credit my blog.
In our age, everyone has a camera. If not a DSLR, then a smartphone. You’d think the large availability of camera owners would have put professional photographers out of business, but the opposite trend has proved true: Internet and social networking have increased the demand for high quality photographs that will stand out from among the many amateur pictures that flood the world wide web. The art and science of professional photography is applicable to all.

Yuba City Wedding Photographers blog posts
I know several Yuba City wedding photographers, many of which are competent and creative. I tell my brides that their choice of photographer has as much to do with their connection to the wedding photographer as to her skills. Apart from her portfolio, the bride must meet with her and ensure she feels comfortable sharing her wedding day with this particular wedding day. If bride and groom do not feel entirely comfortable with my presence in their most-important day of their lives, I’d much rather they hire someone else.
Consider how your wedding photographer must always be present throughout your wedding day. Is the bride dressing up discreetly? Photographer must be there. Are guests arriving happily? She must also be there. Family coming in and out; friends gathering together; groom preparing with his close party of men—and the photographer must capture them all. That’s why I insist bride and groom meet their Yuba City wedding photographer and establish a firm connection with her first. The rest will follow naturally.
A Virtual Photo Album {Yuba City Wedding Photography}
I just prepared my first virtual wedding photo album and am very pleased with the results. With new social networking sites popping up like weeds, it’s incredibly hard for a professional photographer to sift through them and figure out which … Continue reading
Yuba City Senior Portrait Photography blog posts
Like all teenagers, Yuba City Seniors are in transition, and some portraits of the same teenager come out more like a youth while others like an adult. It helps to go through a few changes of clothes during the senior portrait. Some bring out a particular characteristic while others emphasize another. That is why a two hour shoot is useful for senior portrait photography.
Senior portrait photography captures the child in a delicate moment of transition that will never return. My own senior portrait and my sister’s still hang in our parent’s corridors, retaining the fond memories we all had from those youthful times. It is a brief moment that cannot be captured earlier or later in the senior’s life. It’s a service well worth hiring.
Dima {Yuba City Senior Portraits}
Dima came for a headshot. He is a budding actor, and actors need head shots so that schools and companies have clear thumbnails of them when they consider hiring their acting services. So I took his head shots, and then offered … Continue reading
Yuba City Children Photography blog posts
As a teenager, one of the jobs I enjoyed most was running a daycare of five two-year-olds. That was also the beginning of Yuba City Children Photography career. I came into the habit of taking pictures while they played. With time, the toddlers learned that the results of this game were photos and each time they heard the shutter click they would run to see their photo on my LCD screen.
Young parents tend to be very busy. They tend to forget the value of capturing their two year old while he is yet two. Before they know it, he has become a teenager and there is little evidence of his lovable past. My children’s parents were always grateful to receive Children portraits of their toddlers. I have kept that in mind, now that I work as a full time photographer.
Pure Energy {Yuba City Children's Photographer}
Children are pure energy. Their screams herald youth, life, vibrancy. Children’s portraits come out much more interesting when captured in action rather than seated politely or standing with everyone else. Sure, you can pose them for a group photograph, but … Continue reading
Yuba City family photography portraits blog posts
Shooting a family photograph is more challenging because more members are involved. Getting parents, children, grandparents, and oftentimes pets, all in tune, can be a juggling feat. But the result is priceless: a picture that will hang on the walls of the household forever.
The family photos of my grandparents are almost all that’s left of these people who I knew only in my youth, who have passed away and live on only in my memories. I keep this in perspective each time I shoot a Yuba City family portrait: the best photos from this shoot will decorate this family’s home and keep the memories of their loved ones alive.
Art and Science of Photography {Yuba City Photographers}
One thing that differs art from technique is meaning. A technical photograph conveys a straightforward message, as in a plain photo of a person, a monument or a place. An artistic photograph conveys more, as in the person’s emotional condition, … Continue reading
