Yuba City Senior Portraits
Tips for Yuba City Senior Portrait Photography
I recommend two-hour shoots for senior portraits, so as to allow enough time to let the different aspects of the subject emerge. It takes a while to get going, find the right clothes, right posture and right attitude. Teenagers are sensitive. They need time. They need to be approached with patience.
Senior portraits must never the same: if the teenager is a dancer, I offer to capture them wearing dance clothes; if a swimmer, then in the pool; if a car lover, than in their car; if a musician, than with their guitar. The portrait session becomes an exploration of the senior's world. You get to see how different people are, how each has his unique personality. I've never photographed two seniors who were alike.
A senior portrait photographer can tell whether her clients are satisfied with their portraits when they use them for their facebook profiles. With the growing importance of social networking, it has become a priority to present your online profile as professionally as you would your physical one.

I dressed Hillary up with her favorite gown and we went outside, on the roof, decorated with Christmas lights. The senior portrait shoot was an improvisation from beginning to end. I wanted to experiment with lighting and silhouetting. The result … Continue reading
